Acquired Brain Injury Program
We offer individual and group counseling, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy services to individuals that have qualified for the ABI or ABI LTC waiver program. An acquired brain injury is an injury to the brain that is not hereditary, congenital, degenerative, or induced by birth trauma. The Brain Injury Association of America (https://www.biausa.org) is an excellent resource for people with brain injuries, as well as their caregivers and families. Individuals with an ABI may present with varied symptoms, depending on the area(s) of the brain that have been injured. There may be motor impairments, difficulties with speech and language (for expressive and receptive language), fatigue, cognitive impairments, difficulties with executive functioning, visual changes, sensitivity to various sensory inputs, difficulty with impulsivity and attention, etc. Our therapists treat each client as an individual and work with the client to determine personal goals for increased independence and participation in daily routines.
If you are interested in referring a patient to our ABI program, please send all referral information to info@horntherapy.com. This information will be passed along to the Executive Director of our program. We will be in contact with you within the next few business days to discuss our program in more detail.
